This workshop could be called "metal shop for beginners". Students will spend the day learning all sorts of fun metalworking techniques while making several of these "charming" little pendants. Starting with a charm, or other significant F.O., students will learn to drill, cut, shape, polish, patina, bend, form, grind, alter and engrave copper and brass sheet metal. Then attach their own favorite charms and found objects with tiny hardware and copper and brass wire.
So, along with all the techniques, students will build a few cool pieces of personalized metal jewelry, or "wearable art", sure to catch eyes.
Materials Fee $40 paid at beginning of class includes:
brass & copper sheet metal
brass & copper wire
chain for pendants
findings
headpins
patina solutions
hardware
brass brushclear coat
