Pen Magic Watercolor Fun

Portland Spring 2027 is not open

Discover the magic of pen‑fun and watercolor flow.  Combining pens, inks, and watercolor opens up a wonderfully expressive world of mixed‑media art. In this workshop, we’ll explore how these materials can work together to enhance your pages, strengthen your compositions, and bring extra personality to your art journaling.

Ink is a powerful partner to watercolor — it can define shapes, deepen darks, clarify perspective, and draw the eye to areas you want to emphasize. It also invites playful mark‑making, loose sketching, and creative experimentation. Best of all, there are no rules here. This is a technique that thrives on curiosity, discovery, and brings extra personality to your art journaling.

You’ll create small studies and journal pages as you explore what feels most natural and expressive for you. Whether you are brand new to mixed media or already love combining materials, this workshop will help you expand your toolkit and develop a more confident, personal style.  Bring your curiosity, your favorite pens, and your sense of play — it’s pen‑fun time!  As seen in the Summer 2026 issue of Somerset Studio Magazine!
